Focusing on a well-sealed envelope is the first step in building better. Improved insulation, efficient doors and windows, and advanced roofing systems all reduce air leakage and upgrade energy systems. Radiant heating is a superior hydronic solution, and encouraging an all-electric home with heat pumps, induction cooking, and solar/solar-ready solutions add to the value of a building’s efficiency.
We take our sourcing seriously and work with local and sustainable suppliers whenever possible. These efforts help us to reduce our carbon footprint and provide support for our local economy. The supporting pillars of our green building principles also serve to more wholly reinforce our environmental responsibility efforts.
The air quality of our home and our work environment is a valuable part of our everyday lives. With enhanced filtration systems combined with HRVs (Heat Recovery Ventilators), we create airflow that’s better for us. Energy efficient heating/cooling sources and properly managed exhaust and make-up air are vital in creating a healthy environment.
We get down to the basics—Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. Every project is approached with these principles in mind. We save any existing materials that can be repurposed or reused, then we responsibly recycle or dispose of the remaining items. When possible, we incorporate advanced framing systems using long-lasting and low-impact FSC lumber.
